PANCHKULA: Polling for the Vidhan Sabha in Panchkula remained quite an entertaining and learning experience for first-time voters. Enthused about their first voting endeavour, many reached the booths early in the morning to cast their vote, as they said they could not wait to exercise their right for the first time. "When I slept last night, I had a smile on my face, as I was quite excited about the morning.

I slept early, and I asked my mom to accompany me to the polling station. It was really exciting as I got a warm welcome by officials at the booth. It felt great," stated Sukhdeep Sharma, Sector 4.
To cast their vote, students were given off from their university. Akshay Bharadwaj (19) expressed his thanks to the university authorities for granting him an off for the day. "It is really great that our university has given a day off so that we can cast our vote. This is really an appreciable move by them. We were also asked to get the ink finger check in the campus. I was already excited for the day, as it was my first time," said Bharadwaj. In the excitement, these first-timers did not mind standing in long queues. With smiles on their faces, they seemed happy to cast their first vote.
